What an incredible, wild, beautiful ride this has been. Thanks for bringing me on to create this work. Iām so honored that we get to tell these stories.š
One of my favorite things about you is the way you listen to the ideas that pop into your head. You could dismiss them, but you donāt. You take ideas and run with them. You work hard, and you see things through. The hours of time youāve put into Making a Mother may not have literally paid off yet, but theyāve resulted in a masterpiece. I always knew it would be great, but you and Julie knocked it out of the park. Iām so glad you kept going. ā¤ļø
I started typing out a response about how this isnāt always true but I caught myself denying the encouragement and I donāt want to do that, so Iām simply going to say: thank you and I receive this. ā¤ļø love you, friend. This means a lot coming from YOU.
I donāt think I could possibly be more inspired by the steadfastness you and Julie have shown this project. Iām so proud of you. So honored to hear these womenās stories. And rest assured: this work absolutely has staying power ā¤ļø
Iāve listened to the first two episodes, and they were incredible! Well done, Ashlee and @julievlahon! Iāve done both IVF and adoption, so this story was especially poignant for me. Cindy and Kate are remarkable women and mothers! Thank you so much for persevering through years of work and unexpected personal challenges to get their stories out into the world! I canāt wait to listen to more!
Also, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 35, so knowing that about Julie felt especially meaningful. Iāve seen what a battle cancer is, and to be able to get through that AND create this beautiful series is š¤Æššš». What an accomplishment!!
I absolutely love a narrative podcasts and the first two episodes were amazing! The stories of Kate and Cindy are heartbreaking and so full of redemption. How God worked in their hearts and lives... Just wow. At the end of the first episode I was honestly thinking, how are they both going to get the baby they so desire? And the ending was better than I thought. That they became friends and sisters in Christ was amazing. I cannot wait to listen to episode 3 while I clean my kitchen tonight!
I have felt more emotions in the past 2 weeks over the release and listening of this podcast than I can even recount⦠as always Ashlee and team⦠beautifully done š„ŗš¤šš»šš»
Same porch - new gift.ā¤ļø This story that has lengthened to tell the stories is no.small.thing. Stand on that soapbox --- it deserves this message to be heard.
āHe makes beatsā hahaha. The first 2 episodes were WONDERFUL. I laughed, I cried (and Iām not a crier). Thanks for making beautiful things happen
