Bet those buns are damn good…😆 It’s the only thing the kids are gonna eat anyways!

Laughing loud and hard at this as I was asked to bring the dinner rolls this year! 😄 I will also add that I woke up at dawn to bake a pumpkin dream cake. She was the ugliest at the dessert table, but she was everyone’s favorite. Small win for this mama!

same same same! my hope is to impart a knowledge of basic cooking into my kids, even if they know i don’t love cooking myself. (and i’m not a good cook lol.) if they have the knowledge, maybe they’ll develop a love for it? that’s my hope 😄

I totally know what you mean, but hear me out...the dinner rolls are absolutely essential! It’s not a Thanksgiving meal without them. 😎

I love that you unapologetically admit who you are in the kitchen. I think we all could use a bit more honesty about the things that are just not our gifts. Thank you for your honesty, your candor and realizing your talents, which are immense outside of the kitchen :) I love reading each and every one of your essays, keep writing Ashlee, that is where you most abundant talent lies.

Ashlee...I loved this. If the dinner rolls are not there, something is missing! My son who is a very selective eater, used to ONLY eat the dinner rolls at Thanksgiving. He has since expanded to trying a little turkey, but I remember several uncomfortable Thanksgiving dinners where everyone was staring at me, because my son was having a meltdown because he was "starving, but everything looked gross." Knowing that someone was bringing the dinner rolls, always helped to quell my anxiety.
