I love how passionate they are to share their creations with the world! What a beautiful way you are helping them navigate the tool of YouTube with an active counter-narrative, instead of hoping they just never use anything to publish their creations, or learn to avoid the allure of the algorithm/"success" by accident
What an important lesson we are all learning ( re: me) over and over again 👏🏻 as a momma of two boys who love YouTube and one a year away from middle school I am taking notes 😭🤞🏻
I love this. (And that Jean Rhys quote is new to me!) I have been thinking a lot about quiet recently and trying to find ways to get it in this noisy, noisy world, which is easier said than done. And the more I get of it, the more I want it.
Love this, Ashlee! Thanks for going first! Aka, thanks for sharing how you’re navigating these challenges because it gives me lots of nuggets to hold onto as my own kiddos come up a couple of years behind. And you’re doing great. We are all doing great. A book I’m reading had the quote “we are parents on a burning planet” and that’s been pinging around my brain since I read it. Now it’s my new mantra. “I am a parent on a burning planet. I’m doing the best I can.” A tangent but somehow relates…
I love how you detail the specific dance of creating content and the many pitfalls there in the process. So good. This post was just what I needed to hear this week. I am feeling so discouraged with book sale numbers, TikTok algorithms, and just all of it... I too have been grabbing my pen and a journal more this summer than my laptop and it has been good. 💙

Yes ma’am 🙌🏼 You do this better than anyone!
Are there still spots available for the Create Anyway cohort?
Yes! Would love to have you!!! ❤️
Yay! Just signed up, can’t wait ☺️
!!! Can’t wait to get to know you better! ❤️ it’s going to be fun!
Such valuable lessons, thank you for sharing your families experience! Am I wrong in hoping that one day your boys make a team on LegoMasters??
Would be their NUMBER ONE DREAM
