I die at: “WHAT IF I FORGET TO DRINK MY MEDICINE?” Oh bless it. 🥹

Once There Were Wolves is on my TBR (hoping there's not too much brutality involving animals 😅) after reading Migrations last year. Charlotte McConaghy is such a beautiful writer.

I cried reading about Presley’s questions. I had a similar conversation with Ethan on the way to preschool, except he declared he’ll live with me forever (I also wrote about it today!). The earth show sounds so fascinating. We do one episode of Octonauts before bed, and our conversations sound very similar - wowza and God is so creative.

Wonderful post. On the train home literally LOL - just the pick me up I needed on this Thursday. Finally ordered Create Anyway too after that price drop 😍

My daughter has always seemed about 1,000 steps ahead of her actual age. Maybe it's a girl thing? But also, when my son was 5, he stood up at the dinner table during a discussion about a girl at school, and shouted "I CAN'T HELP WHO I LOVE!" So maybe they're all ahead of where we expect them to be.

Her precious little heart and mind <3 As a mama of a 3.5 year old girl, I daily struggle with wanting her to grow up and do all the things but also wanting her to stay my sweet little girl forever.

I bought an extra copy of your book to see if my friend will let me leave it at her dance studio waiting area!

LOOOOOVE this post. Your opening essay is just wonderful, as are the accompanying photos.

Reading: Just finished Lessons in Chemistry and was not as big of a fan as many in my circles. Currently trying to finish The Winners before picking up the next book club read, The House of Eve.

Wearing: I have these Eddie Bauer pants that I cannot find anymore in olive green and black. They are pull on and flattering and lightweight, perfect for these fake-spring days we keep getting. My perennials are all like, what is happening? Should I be coming up? Is now the right time?

Cooking: I've had to do the cooking for the last month or so - my husband is actually the cook in our house. I just want to say I'm SO glad he's back to being the chef!

Watching: Better Call Saul on Netflix. I'll be sad when it's over.

My six-year-old is also already engaged and discussing baby names with her bf. Where does this come from?! Why is it so sweet to me - the innocent, uncomplicated dreams of grown-up life. She’s lucky to have you for her mama.

What a sweet conversation. I can’t believe she already has the false narrative that childbirth is painful. Plenty of time for her to learn the magic and medicine-free birth of her ancestors, and to learn they aren’t in a tummy at all, to learn her true power and magic. Who knows, at age 5, she already seems on the path to becoming a wise women capable of making waves <3

So sweet!! My youngest flat-out says she doesn’t want to have babies; she’ll adopt. And she will live at home with me. She has three big sisters who talk about how awful cramps are (I just die silently when I have them so I don’t scare her more), and I think all of it is too overwhelming at the moment.

I just finally read Educated and my mind is still reeling. How is that real?! Cooking lots of soups and stews, especially my husband’s favorite “veggies and dumpling stew” that uses navy beans for protein. It is *chef’s kiss*.

I’ve been wanting to freeze time with my five-year-old who loves to talk about the future lately, too! Also, that SNL skit 🤣! And thanks for sharing my essay ❤️

Ack, daughters! I love them so and love how you write about them ❤️ Our weekly family tradition is watching "Secrets of the North Carolina Zoo," which is extra fun because it's our local zoo! Adding Planet Earth to our watch list now.
