Thank you for your vulnerability in this post. I loved the book personally and if it helps, it’s still £17.95 here in the uk which means I can’t afford to give it to four friends for Christmas 😅 but I have reviewed it on Amazon uk.

Haha I have the same problem in Australia! 😂

Oh dang! If I could send you some $5 copies and not pay a million dollars in shipping, I totally would! ;) Never even occurred to me that Amazon UK had its own reviews, thank you for leaving me one!! ❤️

You have absolutely NOTHING to be embarrassed about. Your book is GOLD. Truly, truly, truly. This year has not been a personally creative year for many, many reasons but I plan to re-read Create Anyway and I know it will propel me forward when I'm ready again. Your writing is a gift to this world, Ashlee!!

Oh, Ashlee. This is so real… I am SO CONFUSED as to why your book didn’t “do well.” It’s an INCREDIBLE work amongst a lot of other great work you continue to create and share. You know this already, but I still want to say it. :) But geez, I can’t imagine the disappointment you might feel when receiving this kind of feedback, even if you do always strive to put “mission before metric.” UGH.

I dunno, you are making a REAL DIFFERENCE in SO MANY people’s lives… please rest in knowing that you are precious and dear to all of us.

Lovely twist in perspective that the lower price means it can be shared more. Maybe these are your loaves and fish?

Sending you love and hugs and appreciation today! <3

well I feel ya! My book is currently under a dollar on amazon which feels great considering it took two years to write! Ha!

Oh sheesh. What's your book called?! Drop me a link!

“Called by Name” by Anna Stadick. It’s *real* cheap right now so if you want to buy, I’d love for you to read it! I wrote it during my time in MFA grad school six years ago.

So thankful for you and who you are as a person outside of your beautiful words, but I’m also thankful for your beautiful words ❤️.

I had started your book on Libby, but it wasn’t enough. So went I shipped it to Nz for $50 (it’s still $30) I knew it was an investment. That is an understatement. This year the accountability to create in so many ways has been a direct flow on from your words. I hope so many women get this in their hands for 2025. It will change their world

Oh my gooooooosh I cannot believe how expensive that was 😱 I am humbled, truly! Grateful for you, Vanessa ❤️

Would 100% pay again. Your words sowed life back into the folds of motherhood this year like a quilt putting many parts together.

I adore the way you trust your readers with your heart—even when it means exposing the hard things. That’s one of the many reasons I loved Create Anyway! Thank you for sharing this and for continuing to share your words in general. We need them! ♥️

I am sure you didn't write this post to boost sales, but true to your exact point about affordability (especially during the holiday season -- insert sweat dripping face emoji), I just bought two. One for my sister who writes alongside me, and one for me. Because of everything you just said and more. Cheers to 80% off Ashlee!! God working magic this season <3

I mean, I am not above a pity order. 🤣 I kid, I kid, but seriously THANK YOU. I hope you and your sister enjoy it! ❤️

The $5 price tag helped me to buy your book. I’m enjoying it slowly. It gave me permission and drive to do the hard work of decluttering my home- that art can begin with making space. I turn a corner in January (my self-imposed deadline for decluttering) and I have a few creative projects to enjoy and indulge in in preparation for a new little life. I’ve had little, daily creative moments that I’ve felt much freer to enjoy and embrace than ever before that have kept the making space season light and free.

I’m glad God is helping you to trust Him with your art and the good work He has given you to do.

Thank you, as always, for your vulnerability, Ashlee. Create Anyway was such a blessing to me, and also a book I’m going to start rereading in the new year as I try to reinvigorate my personal creative practice in the margins. I try not to purchase books on Amazon, but knowing it’s on sale on Christianbook means I’m about to add a bunch of copies to my cart so I can gift them to a few specific friends this year and also keep them on hand for whenever I feel a friend needs the encouragement you provide. 💕

Your book was life changing for me. I sent you a picture of my current display on Instagram. I bought it when it was still up in price and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I ordered one for myself and one for a friend that I think will enjoy it as much as I have so far (like, currently sitting at my dining room table unable to stop my tears 😭). It’s a beautiful book. Grateful that you wrote it.

I walked into my local library this summer, and your book was front and center on the display case for summer reads! In Franklin, TN (a suburb of Nashville). I thought it was amazing!

Oh my gosh how fun to hear that! I am such a big library lover, that means a lot to me.
