"A Little Something Extra"
The new Merit mascara is here — and it's GOOD
Full transparency: this is a sponsored collaboration with Merit, a beauty brand I love and use every single day. As always, all opinions are my own. Photos were shot with my iPhone and are—by Merit’s request—filter-free.
I have not watched Legally Blonde in probably 15 years, but there are still a handful of quotes from that movie that live rent-free in my head at all times:
“What, like it’s hard?”
“Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husbands!”
“Whoever said orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed.”
And my personal favorite: the scene where Elle Woods acknowledges that yes, her resume is pink, and also scented. “It gives it a little something extra, don’t you think?”
When Merit sent me their newest product, that last quote popped into my head immediately. Their new Clean Volume Mascara is everything you already loved about Clean Lash, with a little something extra.
First thing I noticed: this mascara holds a curl REALLY well. Second thing I noticed: I love the new wand design! This updated brush is thinner and more precise than the original, which makes it easy to separate my lashes as I apply the product (as opposed to trying to separate them with a lash comb afterwards). Third thing I noticed: despite being a “volumizing” mascara, Merit’s version is still feather light, fresh, and extremely natural.
It’s like no-makeup makeup with a side of oomph.
Understated with a tiny pop.
It gives it a little something extra, don’t you think?

Like all Merit products, Clean Volume Mascara is buildable. Whether you just need a couple swipes for a day of summer-ing with the kids, or want a little va-va-voom for date night, you can keep on layering until you get the exact vibe you want. Either way, you’ll get a clean, naturally polished look.
Bonus: this product is ophthalmologist-tested and safe for sensitive eyes and contact lenses. (I can confirm: I wear contacts every day!) Smudge-resistant and flake-free, this is the perfect mascara for all-day wear, with zero clumps.
This mascara isn’t available to the public yet, but you can shop now via my early access link.
If you’re in the market for other products, here’s my current “5-minute face” lineup:
Uniform (#25 — which is my darker, summer shade)
the Minimalist (Ochre)
Flush Balm (Lusitano)
Day Glow (Citrine)
Shade Slick (Biarritz)
Clean Volume Mascara (Black)
Any questions about Merit? I’ve tried every single product at this point and happy to answer as best I can! Let me know in the comments ❤️
